I love the idea of never using refined sugar again! It makes me feel so cranky the next day, and it feeds the bad bacteria in making my gut feel not so happy. I would love to be able to read this semicolon and be able to try these products!

    • Jesse Lane Lee, CNP on May 13, 2016 at 10:47 am

I totally agree that refined sugar makes people cranky and you are totally right that is feeds the bad bacteria in your gut.

  5. Kate on May 10, 2016 at 8:18 pm

This cookbook would be wonderful to have when looking for healthy recipes to make for my family.

  6. Cristina A on May 10, 2016 at 9:56 pm

Fingers crossed!!!!! It would be great to get a hand in starting our cleaner, gluten free lifestyle. With two little ones and a husband that loves sweets, I’m sure they wouldn’t even notice that they are enjoying healthy desserts with the recipes you’ve put together.

By having a “normal” way to eat desserts without dairy, as I can’t eat dairy often. I can eat a small amount, like a thin slice of cheese to go on sandwich, but not anymore than that. But, if there’s cashews, that might be a problem, as they’re expensive, and more so with being raw. But, I’d really love to learn other ways of making non-dairy desserts.

    • Jesse Lane Lee, CNP on May 13, 2016 at 10:52 am

I can’t eat dairy very often either Heather. A few of the raw desserts use cashews, but you can always use sunflower seeds instead.

  8. Jacqueline on May 11, 2016 at 4:23 am

I’m very limited in the “sweets” I can eat and think this book would open up endless possibilities ;0)

    • Jesse Lane Lee, CNP on May 13, 2016 at 10:53 am

Yes it really will Jacqueline, it has so many recipes to choose from!

  9. Brenda Penton on May 11, 2016 at 7:48 am

I think cutting out dairy would be beneficial to my health, I think dairy is the cause of my acne.

    • Jesse Lane Lee, CNP on May 13, 2016 at 10:53 am

You are so right Brenda, dairy is a common cause for acne that is often overlooked.

  10. Meghan on May 13, 2016 at 10:18 am

I recently learned that my lifelong digestive issues are related to a dairy intolerance, but it’s been disappointing to be at family gatherings and parties with friends and not enjoy the same treats, so providing alternative options that can masquerade as baked goods with dairy will be wonderful.

    • Jesse Lane Lee, CNP on May 13, 2016 at 10:56 am

I hear ya Meghan, family gatherings can be really hard. You can make any of the desserts in the cookbook and no one will know they are dairy-free!

  11. Heather on May 13, 2016 at 1:56 pm

I really miss Cheese cake, but I’m also avoiding Gluten and Wheat, so I’d have to make my own graham crackers ’cause I also don’t like what’s in the gluten-free ones. Eating Rice on a constant basis isn’t a good idea.
I’d be the only one to eat the cake though, as nobody in my family is willing to eat a non-gluten cheese cake, plus, I also don’t think the gums they put in the cream cheese, I’ve been trying to find Organic Valley they don’t have the gums, but none of the stores we shop at carry it. I know I can make a request to the stores to carry it, but I’m still a recluse.
And in fact, there’s a lot of processed foods I’m willing to drop, except again, nobody in my family is willing, it’s all too inconvenient for them. I’ve stopped buying Chicken and Turkey lunch meats because they always contain some type of thickener, or modified food starch or potato, which I’m now avoiding nightshades, or trying to, but they keep adding paprika to everything, and we’re American, not Indian, I’d prefer Turmeric than spicy, spicy gives me all kinds of problems.

    • Jesse Lane Lee, CNP on May 15, 2016 at 12:03 pm

Hi Heather! Thank you so much for sharing! I have a delicious raw vegan cheesecake recipe that it gluten-free and free from gums and other processed ingredients. Your family might be skeptical but after one bite they will be sold! The Carob Cake on the cover of the cookbook is also gluten-free and my “non-healthy” friends LOVE it so I’m sure your family will too.

  12. SarahJ on May 14, 2016 at 11:11 am

I have been trying to cut out dairy for the last few months. We are the only mammal to consume milk in an adult age. I don’t think it is natural. I think these recipes would help me along in my goal to completely rid dairy!

    • Jesse Lane Lee, CNP on May 15, 2016 at 12:05 pm

I 100% agree Sarah! There are so many plant-based sources of calcium that are much more bioavailable.

  13. Heather on May 14, 2016 at 12:39 pm

My windowed grandfather has a strict diet. I’m always on the hunt for recipes that I can make him. I feel bad that he gets limited in what he can have.
