I’m calling this a detox juice because it has so many healing properties. The cranberries are very low in sugar and contain properties that act as a barrier to bacteria that might otherwise latch on to the urinary tract lining, thus preventing UTIs. It is important not to use too much fruit in your detox juice because there is no fiber to slow down the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream. Apples are a great fruit to sweetened your detox juice because they contain polyphenols that help regulate blood sugar. I like to add celery because it is super hydrating and contains bone-healthy vitamin K and anti-inflammatory properties. Romaine lettuce is a great addition to this Cranberry Apple Detox Juice because it adds chlorophyll,  vitamin K and immune-boosting vitamin A. I love adding a little bit of ginger to my juices because I love its warming properties and it helps with digestion. Finally, I almost always add lemon to my detox juice because it tastes delicious and adds a beneficial dose of vitamin C.

Juicing

Juicing is a hot topic and it seems like everyone is jumping on the juice cleanse bandwagon. Juicing removes the fiber in the fruit and veggies making the nutrients very easily absorbed. Juicing provides your body with a mega-dose of nutrients including vitamins, minerals and enzymes. It is an excellent way to give your digestive system a rest. People recovering from a chronic disease like cancer or a digestive disorder can really benefit from a juice cleanse. If you are generally healthy, juice makes an excellent supplement to your morning routine or snack.

If you don’t have a juicer, this guide shows how you can juice with your blender.

It is still somewhat high in sugar. For weight loss I recommend a juice that is at least 50% veggies.
