Healthy Homemade Granola
Healthy Homemade Granola is wholesome, nutritious and delicious! Granola is, in my opinion, the perfect breakfast staple. Healthy Homemade Granola is a great way to start your morning because it’s full of protein and crunchy goodness. It’s really easy to make and is so much better than the store bought stuff because it is preservative free and naturally sweetened with maple syrup and fiber rich dates. You can really play around with the recipe by taking out ingredients you dislike and adding more ingredients you like.
Health Benefits of Almonds
I love using almonds and almond butter in my Healthy Homemade Granola because almonds add a great nuttiness and packs a nutritional punch.
- Almonds have healthy fats which have been associated with reduced risk of heart disease
- Almonds are high in magnesium which helps your nerves and muscles relax, relieves stress related tension and promotes overall relaxation
- Almonds are an excellent source of vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant that boosts your immune system
- Almonds are a great source of sleep promoting tryptophan and energy producing vitamin B2
I love making a big batch of Healthy Homemade Granola on Sunday night because it makes the house smell amazing! I usually end up enjoying a bowl for dinner because I simply can’t resist the heavenly aromas wafting through the house.
I love to eat Healthy Homemade Granola the old fashion way, in a bowl with nut milk, but I like playing around with it too. One of my favorite ways to enjoy granola is to substitute the nut milk with a smoothie! Its a fun way to get some extra protein, fiber and nutrients into your breakfast.

How long can you store this granola for? Should be kept in the fridge? Thank you!
You can store it in an airtight container on the counter for about 2 weeks. If you want it to last longer it will last for quite a while in the fridge or freezer, it will just lose its crispiness.
